Basalt Textile

Basalt textile is manufactured from volcanic stone material. It is capable of withstanding high temperatures and resistant to the worst chemical substances. Although this textile feels like silk to the touch it is stronger in tension than steel making it an ideal replacement for glass fibres in composites.

Basalt textiles possess unique characteristics. They are resistant to high temperatures, potent chemicals and mechanically strong. Basalt textiles are frequently used where there are no alternatives such are the material needed for fire brigades.

Basalt textiles are a very good replacement for glass fibre in composites. The total solution is often cheaper, lower in weight and has better specifications than the original materials.

Because Basalt is UV resistant it is a good alternative for many outside applications where UV light will destroy most other materials in time.
